How to Debloat Fire TV Stick & Disable Auto-Playing Video Ads (2026 Guide)
Amazon's latest Fire OS updates fill over 70% of the home screen with sponsored full-screen video ads, eating your Wi-Fi bandwidth and slowing down navigation. Here is how to disable the bloat safely without root.
CleanYourTV has dedicated ADB profiles for Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max, Lite, and Fire Cube.
STEP 1 Unlock Developer Options on Fire OS
Amazon hides the Developer Options menu by default on newer Fire OS updates. To unhide it:
- Navigate to Fire TV Settings (gear icon) ➜ My Fire TV.
- Click on About.
- Highlight your device's name (e.g. Fire TV Stick 4K Max) and press the center Select button 7 times.
- A toast notification at the bottom will say: "No need, you are already a developer."
- Press Back once: you will now see Developer Options visible!
- Click Developer Options and toggle ADB Debugging to ON.
STEP 2 Find Your Fire TV's Wi-Fi IP Address
Make sure your computer (Windows PC or Mac) is connected to the same Wi-Fi router as your Fire TV Stick.
- Go to Settings ➜ My Fire TV ➜ About ➜ Network.
- Look at the right-hand column: write down the IP Address (e.g.
192.168.1.145).
STEP 3 Run CleanYourTV Fire TV Debloat Script
Open the CleanYourTV optimizer, select your Fire TV generation, input the IP, and download the 1-click script.
